| Tim
was born in Melbourne on the 26/9/1970. Growing up in
Newcastle from 3 to 9, he first entered the water on a
foamy twin fin at Redhead beach, gaining an instant fascination
and respect for the ocean. Moving to the Central Coast
at the age of 9 led to Tim taking up bodyboarding, starting
out at the small beachbreak of Terrigal. Through his early
teens he gained a reputation around the local breaks,
with Nth Avoca and Wamberal offering more challenging
beachbreaks. He soon starting venturing to the local reefs
of Crackneck and Banzai, and by the age of 18 had turned
professional. This led him to Hawaii, where he excelled
In the powerful waves. He has travelled to this location
every year for the last 15 years, as well as many other
exotic locations around the world. |

| It
was also around this time that Tim started experimenting
with photography after getting an old instamatic waterproof
camera as a gift. He soon found a great passion for this
artform, and extended his equipment in order to be able
to compete with the top professionals. Specialising in
water photography, soon enough he was contributing to
all of the major surf and lifestyle publications worldwide
as a senior photographer, including Tracks, Waves and
Transworld Surf, among others, as well as global companies
such as Billabong. He has travelled and shot all over
the world, including Europe, Indonesia, Mentawais, Tahiti,
Hawaii, Samoa and Mexico, as well as all over Australia.
Through his profession he has gained a formidable reputation
as one of the world’s best surf photographers with
his unique angles and bright, clear images. |
